10 basic rules for the safe handling of rifles, shotguns and pistols

  1. Get to grips with the technique and handling of the rifles, shotguns and pistols you use.
  2. The muzzle must always point in a safe direction.
  3. Rifles, shotguns and pistols must not be loaded when not in use.
  4. Make sure that the barrel is free from contamination before use.
  5. Always shoot at a safe target.
  6. Always wear appropriate eye and ear protection when shooting.
  7. Never climb a tree or over an obstacle with a loaded rifle, shotgun or pistol.
  8. Never shoot at a hard surface or at water.
  9. For transport, your rifle, shotgun or pistol must always be unload .
  10. Avoid alcohol or drugs and do not smoke when shooting or handling a rifle, shotgun or pistol.

It is important that you read and understand these safety instructions carefully and familiarise yourself with the exact handling of your shooting sports equipment before you start using it. Memorise the handling instructions well. If you still have problems with the safe use and correct handling or additional questions, please contact a competent gunsmith or gun dealer or contact us directly. The instruction manual for your shooting sports equipment is extremely important. Make sure that it is always with the shooting sports equipment, especially if it is sold, lent or otherwise given to third parties. Our shooting sports equipment is intended exclusively for the target shooting . Operating instructions can also be obtained subsequently from the manufacturer.

The ANSCHÜTZ shooting sports equipment has been shot in before leaving the company, if legally required also state shot in and very carefully checked. Improper use and non-observance of the operating instructions may endanger life and limb! The privilege of owning and wielding weapons is associated with personal responsibility. Accidents can be avoided by observing the following rules for safety when shooting.

General handling of shooting sports equipment:

Although it can be assumed that the following principles are generally known to the shooters, we would like to expressly point them out again at this point for safety reasons.
All firearms are dangerous objects whose storage and use require very special care.

1. treat any shooting sports equipment as conscientiously as if it were loaded. Do not trust the statements of others or assume that it is unloaded. Always check for yourself first. Safety and courtesy dictate that you carry your shooting sports equipment with the bolt open so that your companion immediately recognises that your shooting sports equipment is not ready to fire. unload your shooting sports equipment immediately if you no longer wish to use it. Make sure that your shooting sports equipment is unloaded before each transport. Never pick up your shooting sports equipment if you have your finger on the trigger or in the trigger guard.

Whenever you pick up your shooting sports equipment, point the muzzle towards the ground. Never point the muzzle of your shooting sports equipment in a direction where you can cause harm or endanger life. Never pull a shooting sports device with the muzzle pointed at you towards you.

4. make sure you are using the correct ammunition. The exact caliber is marked on your shooting sports equipment. Always load your shooting sports equipment immediately before use. Only use original ANSCHÜTZ magazines. Do not exceed the specified capacity of the magazines. Modifications to the shooting sports equipment or the use of non-original ANSCHÜTZ magazines and accessories can lead to malfunctions.

Always keep your shooting sports equipment clean. Take special care that the barrel is not clogged with dirt, water, grease or other foreign bodies. Never remove foreign bodies by shooting them out. If a shot does not go off when the trigger is pulled, point the barrel in a safe direction, activate the safety, open the bolt and carefully remove the bullet.

Serious or even life-threatening injuries and damage can be caused by using the wrong ammunition, by contamination in the barrel or by using the wrong cartridge components .

7. the safety catch must be engaged exactly in the "S" or "F" position, never in between. Leave your shooting sports equipment in the secured state until immediately before ready to fire. Do not touch the trigger when operating the safety or when you are not ready to shoot.

8. while you are not using your shooting sports equipment, it must be in a safe place accessible only to you at bolt . Always store the shooting sports equipment unload and in a relaxed condition. Ammunition must be kept in a separate place at bolt . You are responsible for ensuring that your shooting sports equipment is never out of reach and safe from the access of children and other unauthorised persons at all times and especially during your absence. 12. clean your hands thoroughly after shooting and after cleaning your shooting sports equipment. Bullet, powder and oil residues can cause health problems on the skin.

13 Your ANSCHÜTZ shooting sports equipment has been manufactured to the highest standards and conscientiously checked. Its service life depends on treatment and care in accordance with the instructions contained in the operating manual.

For your own safety, use approved hearing protection and splinter-free eye protection when shooting. Also make people who are in your vicinity aware of the need to wear ear and eye protection .

Laws

Please observe the applicable weapons laws, rules and regulations of the respective country. Also follow the safety rules of the sporting regulations.

Liability

ANSCHÜTZ accepts no liability or claims for damages of any kind resulting from failure to observe the operating instructions, improper handling or repair, use of non-original ANSCHÜTZ parts, incorrect handling, negligence, removal of the sealing wax or unauthorised tampering.

2. the stock or pistol grip has been very carefully checked and found to be in perfect condition before leaving the factory. Improper, rough handling, such as knocking over or dropping the shooting sports equipment, can damage the wood, for which we as supplier cannot be held responsible. Likewise, we do not accept any guarantee for damage caused by improper transport (post, forwarding agent, aeroplane, etc.). In such a case, contact the transport company immediately.

3. modifications to a shooting sports device or its parts are prohibited. Such modifications may impair the safe use of our product and lead to accidents endangering life and limb. In such a case, any warranty will automatically expire. Please inspect your shooting sports equipment carefully for any modifications before using it. If in doubt, please contact us.
