1935

On March 24, 1935, a Sunday morning, Fritz August Anschütz died unexpectedly of a stroke. He had earned an excellent reputation and business connections in many countries through his efficiency and diligence. He was also known as a generous supporter, helper and advisor to many associations and charitable organizations in Mehlis. At his funeral the following Thursday, the plant flag flew at half-mast as he was carried to his grave with great sympathy from the local population. The factory siren sent out a prolonged wail as a last tribute to its senior boss.

The funeral procession escorted Fritz Anschütz through Mehlis to his final resting place, March 28, 1935.

From now on, the fate of the company was in the hands of Max and Rudolf Anschütz. Born in 1930, Dieter Anschütz, father of today's managing director Jochen Anschütz, lived with his family below the factory roof. The balcony on the flat roof was also Dieter's playground at that time.

Since the company was founded, ANSCHÜTZ has not only invested in new factory buildings, machines and materials, but also in people. Even founder Julius Gottfried Anschütz attached great importance to well-trained, motivated and satisfied employees. It was therefore not uncommon for employees to work at ANSCHÜTZ not just for a few years but for decades, sometimes even from their apprenticeship right through to retirement. The Sonneberg Chamber of Industry and Commerce honored the 40 years of uninterrupted work of the running driller Max Keiner in the adjacent certificate and awarded him the "Silver Medal of Honor".
