Are LaserPower rifles prima facie weapons?

The ANSCHÜTZ LaserPower models from version II as well as the versions Profiset with blue stock and/or the inscription "LaserLauf" and "LaserPower" are no longer subject to the prima facie weapon paragraph.

For LaserPower rifle of the first generation (version I with light wooden stock) the following applies:
Due to the new Weapons Act which came into force on 01.04.2008 the company ANSCHÜTZ has received on request in a letter from the BKA Wiesbaden dated 15.05.2008 the information that light or laser rifles fall under the "Apparent Weapons Clause" according to § 42 a WaffG. The term "prima facie weapon" is defined in numbers 1.6 ff of Annex 1 to §1, paragraph 4 WaffG - definitions - section 1.

According to the letter we have received, the LaserPower rifle version I is therefore a prima facie weapon. This circumstance also affects the transport of the LaserPower rifles, i.e. it must be ensured that the transport is carried out exclusively in locked containers. It should also be noted that further restrictions apply to the use and carrying of LaserPower rifles as a result of their classification as a "prima facie weapon".

We recommend that if you have any questions in this regard, you contact your local firearms law enforcement agency and obtain approval for any planned events outside of shooting ranges.
